On June 3, the 2021 Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ People National Action Plan: Ending Violence Against Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ People was released.

Over 100 First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people led the development of the National Action Plan. Multiple groups were represented such as family and survivors, the distinct Indigenous Peoples (Métis, Inuit, and First Nations), various communities (urban, 2SLGBTQQIA+ and data/research), and federal and provincial-territorial governments. With the exception of the provincial-territorial, First Nations and Inuit groups, all groups included Métis representation.
