The Métis National Council leadership and staff extend their deepest sympathies and condolences to all families of those involved in the tragic events that occurred Friday,  January 22, 2016 and to the community of La Loche, Saskatchewan.

Donations have been made to assist with funeral costs to the families through the Metis Legal Research and Education Foundation.

The community of La Loche will require a lot of suport at this time as well the families of those who have to travel to and from the hospital, more than 600 kms away. For ways to support these families, the Métis Legal Research and Education Foundation Inc. has set up an account. Should you wish to contribute,  please mail your cheque to:

The Foundation will work with local authorities to deliver funds appropriately. A full report will be made setting out donations collected and disbursed and a letter will be issued to donators acknowledging monies received.
