At the meeting, the Governors discussed the recent federal court ruling in the Daniels case and the upcoming MMF v. Canada and Manitoba decision of the Supreme Court of Canada.  Women of the Métis Nation also provided a report and the Board unanimously supported a motion to address the pressing issue of Violence Against Aboriginal Women. The Governors also reviewed drafts of a number of important agreements that are expected to be concluded soon with the federal government: the renewal of the Métis Nation Protocol; a Canada-Métis Nation Governance and Financial Accountability Accord; and a Canada-Métis Nation Economic Development Accord.
