President Chartier Presented with Diamond Jubilee Medal

On February 6th, President Clément Chartier was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his leadership as President of the Métis National Council and advocating for Métis and Indigenous rights. During a private ceremony at Rideau Hall, David Johnston the Governor General of Canada was accompanied by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in presenting the medal at the inaugural presentation on behalf of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
