Métis Nation Constitution Workshop Held in Ottawa

On December 11 & 12, 2011 the Métis National Council hosted the Métis Nation Constitution Workshop that was attended by its Governing Members and their respective Board of Directors or Provincial Councils. Over the two days, a variety of presentations addressed range of issues under consideration as the Métis Nation continues to develop the framework for a Métis Nation Constitution. Continue reading

MMF Land Claim Case Heard by the Supreme Court of Canada

On the morning of December 13th, Métis Nation citizens gathered in Ottawa to march to the steps of the Supreme Court of Canada in support of the Manitoba Metis Federations’ court appeal that has been 30 years in the making. It was a great day for the Métis Nation. Continue reading

Métis Veterans Honoured – Minister Duncan Attends

Métis Veterans who served during the Korean War were honoured on December 11th in Ottawa at a special commemoration luncheon that was attended by Métis Nation leaders, citizens, friends of the Métis and special guest Aboriginal Affairs and Office of the Federal Interlocutor for Métis Minister John Duncan.
